Is Derma Rolling Safe? Is it Painful?

August 31, 2019

One of the first things that comes to mind when thinking about Derma Rolling – is it painful? Is it safe?

All Glammer Derma Rollers are made from the highest quality, medical grade needles. Our average skin thickness is 1.5 mm and all our needles are much much shorter than this. So are completely safe to use at home as part of your skincare routine.

Safety tips

  • Do NOT use the Derma Roller on active acne

  • Do NOT use the Derma Roller on keloid scars.

  • Always remember to sterilize / sanitize your Derma Roller before and after each session using rubbing alcohol or hydrogen peroxide which can be bought from your local chemist or pharmacist.

  • Always cleanse your hands and skin before each session.

  • Do not apply any unknown products to your skin for 24 hours after each session.

How fast can I see results?

Best practice is to always begin with a smaller length needle and work your way up. Our skin requires time to regenerate and repair after use of a Derma Roller.  Most people see visible changes in their skin after the first Derma Roller session, but on average it takes about a month before significant improvements in skin to be realized.
